The New Year will see The County College of Morris (CCM) close their satellite campus in Morristown, effective. Dec. 31.
The decision to discontinue use of the Morristown campus was decided by the CCM Board of Trustees at its Nov. 16 meeting.
The space at 30 Schuyler Place had been made available to CCM by the county since January 2012, but is now needed for governmental services.
The board said at the meeting that they are confident the classes offered by the Morristown location can be accommodated by the Randolph campus. College officials indicated their commitment to the Morristown community, and noted they are looking at other locations for English as a second language, among other courses.
Questions regarding the location change may be directed to Dr. Anthony Iacono, college president, or Dr. Joseph Ricca, board chair. The Youngtown Edition will have a full feature on the change and the impact to the campus in our first issue of next semester on Wednesday, Jan. 25.
